Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since I went out out for some good drinks. Over the weekend, I finally got the chance to go out with my sister to grab coffee in San Jose. I’m starting a new segment on my blog called Food Diaries. I began to miss the little things people used to be able to do pre-pandemic like going out with friends to enjoy some drinks or grabbing brunch. When I went out this weekend, I started thinking, “what if I started documenting my food adventures around the bay area”. Sometimes, I like to look back at places I’ve been to that were memorable and I enjoy eating at so I can recommend them to people the next time they ask. Also, it would be a good way for me to explore the area I grew up in.
For the first spot in this segment, I visited a really cute coffee/tea shop in San Jose called Dr.ink. The first thing I noticed about this place was the aesthetics. It’s very clean and minimal which I love and is very Instagram worthy. I think the interior design is an important aspect of any café because it sets a nice atmosphere for the customer. It’s like a first impression, if the interior looks nice, it makes me more likely to walk in. Although, that’s not always the case for some places. They may have a nice interior, but their food is lacking. However, I’m happy to say that Dr.ink was not one of those places. This place is still fairly new, I went during their soft opening, but I was really pleased with the drink I ordered. I would definitely come back to order it again.
I ordered the black nougat latte which was one of their more popular drinks. If you do not know what nougat is, it’s a type of candy made with honey, roasted nuts, and sometimes candied fruit. The drink was really good, I would definitely recommend getting it when you come here. It’s definitely unique and has a nice nutty flavor if that’s what you like. They also offer soft serves, fruit teas, and cold brews. I haven’t had a chance to try their other drinks or soft serves, but I want to try their blue(coconut) latte next time I go.
If you are looking for a new coffee/tea spot, I definitely recommend Dr.ink if you’re in the area. Thanks for reading my first post for “Food Diaries”. I hope you all enjoyed this post! I will be posting more of my favorite places soon.
